What’s better than a playground? A playground that has levels and is fun to climb on, of course!!

Here are some of our favorites around St. Louis!

Brentwood Park

📍 9100 Russell Ave

Brentwood, MO 63119

Just opened on 4/6/24, this is a beautiful 32 acre park in Brentwood. There is a 2.7 acre playground and 2 unique climbing structures (one targeted for more younger kiddos). 6 swings, 4 slides, 2 zip lines, this place is a gem. It also connects to the Deer Creek Greenway and has 3.2 miles of paved trails here.

The big silo next to the splash area is the water capture system. It’s the biggest sustainability feature in Brentwood Park! It takes the water used at the splash bad and recycles it to use throughout Brentwood Park to keep the grass and plants green. It’s going to capture about 200,000 gallons per week (which is 4,000,000 a year!).

In case you walk by the pond and you are curious about the lined rocks, this is where the pond water gets filtered out before it returns to the creek. The pond area is to help with flood protection and keeps the water off the playground when we get heavy rain!

Restrooms are open, as well as a drinking fountain (located by the pavilion)!

Creve Coeur Lake Park (Maryland Heights)

Creve Coeur Lake has 3 wonderful playgrounds on the upper part of the park!

Newest playground:

📍38.71175° N, 90.47754° W

This one is right next to Greensfelder “Spaceship” Shelter. The bathrooms are nearby in the shelter. The playground is shaded and has turf ground. It has an amazing view of Creve Coeur Lake. There are swings and has an awesome climbing structure.

The other two playgrounds are located across the street past Go Ape, featuring a water bucket in the warmer months. Don’t forget to check out the gorgeous Creve Coeur Lake! Such a beautiful 4 mile loop around the lake.

We love the treetop playground and such a great fenced-in playground!!

If you take the short, paved trail down a few minutes, you arrive at this new climbing area! It is right across from the South Shelter and has a parking lot right next to it too.

GPS coordinates to the new playground:

📍38.64682° N, 90.34574° W

This is a newer playground, but we haven’t gotten a chance to play on it yet. It was such a blast!! While it is designed for older kiddos, my 2yo and 4yo had just as much fun exploring and climbing as my 6yo.

We parked at the treetop playground (📍2 Topton Way, Clayton, MO 63105), played there first and the walked the trail to the new climbing area. It was a fun way to play in the warm weather here in STL!

We’ve been to Shaw Park countless times and had no idea this gem existed until this week!!

It is right behind Clayton High School (right by the baseball fields in the rear of the parking lot).

Highland Park

1250 Highland Terr

Richmond Heights, MO 63117

This is a small playground and it is tucked in a neighborhood. I would say this park is targeted more towards older kiddos—my 2yo still had fun here, but my 6yo & 4yo were climbing more independently!

There are no restrooms here. I have a little portable car potty in the back of my car in case my kids need it. There is street parking (we parked right across from the playground)!

There is ample shade for the summer, as well as a splash pad.

Broemmelsiek Park (St. Charles)

📍 38.71989° N, 90.80996° W

We weren’t expecting to see this playground at all. We saw it while driving through the park to get to the corn maze!! I love surprises like that. We had no idea this was here.

We absolutely loved this playground! It was perfect for all of my kids and it wasn’t too crowded either.
