Best Multi-level Playgrounds Part 2

Best Multi-level Playgrounds Part 2

There are so many great multi-level playgrounds here in St. Louis that I just needed to add a part 2! Here are some more parks to explore!

Stieren Inspirational Park

13408 W Watson Rd, Sunset Hills, MO 63127

This new renovated playground is unbelievable. Located in Sunset Hills, Stieren Inspirational Site is located in the woods, has two multi-level towers on the playground, lots of climbing structures and swings. The zipline is so fun too! There is exercise equipment throughout the woods and playground area. There were kids using the equipment, as well as parents as they watched their kids play.

The trailhead starts behind the zipline at the back of the park. It starts as an unpaved trail through the woods with mulch ground. Then, the trail turns paved and connects with Minnie Ha Ha park (which has three smaller playgrounds).

The restrooms (located near the parking lot) are completed and now open!

Indian Camp Creek

📍2679 Dietrich Road, Foristell

Built in 2006, this is the largest St. Charles park at 603 acres! There are 10 miles of trails for hiking and biking! The 3-story playground is amazing as well.

Our favorite spots:

  • Indian Camp Creek (perfect shallow creek similar to Mastodon. We visit here in June and July, but pH levels are usually higher here in August)
  • Ghost Structure (site where original log cabin was built in the late 1800s)
  • Observation Silo (beautiful view overlooking the “Ghost Structure” and prairie)
  • Great playgrounds (we love the wooden playground next to the entrance of the creek & the newer 3-story playground with the splash pad)!
  • Trails!!! So many great ones here from unpaved to paved. The boardwalk is fun (across from the 3-story playground)!

Dr. H. Phillip Venable Memorial Park

📍10630 Country View Drive

Creve Coeur, MO

This park is amazing and has been one of our favorites throughout the years. My water actually broke with one of my daughters at this playground!!

It is 7.5 acres and has a half-mile paved trail around the field, three tennis courts, a soccer field, two playgrounds & a picnic pavilion. And, it is super shaded!!

The park is situated between some neighborhoods. There is so much to do and explore. My girls love running through the large fields, as well as the two playgrounds. The playgrounds are a little space away from each other, so we went to the smaller playground first before going to the larger one all together.

The bathrooms and water fountain are right next to the pavilion (across from the larger playground).

Deer Creek

📍3200 Laclede Station Rd

Saint Louis, MO 63143

This is a fun spaceship-themed playground. There are swings, sandboxes, diggers & lots of climbing! There are nice pavilions & restrooms here too!

The Deer Creek Greenway also runs for a little bit along the park! It is a nice & short paved trail on the edge of the park, maybe .3 miles.

O’Day Park

📍1000 O’Day Park Dr

O Fallon, MO 63368

This adventure playground is amazing! Construction was completed in 2018. There is a separate toddler area with swings and climbing, not to mention the awesome splash pad & creek play on in summer. There is a rock climbing wall and tuf ground.

The area (targeted for older kiddos) has spots to climb up ropes to another level (where the slide is). Just a heads up, watch younger kiddos at the top of the slide area in case they try to climb the ropes down. Restrooms right next to the playground

They also offer group camping and a lodge and pavilions for renting. This is such a beautiful gem in O’Fallon!

Edmundson Park

📍4440 Holman Lane

This is a 3 acre park in Edmundson, just south of the STL airport. There is a toddler area playground and a larger 3-story one for older kids. From the splash pad to a zipline, two covered picnic areas, it is awesome. The zipline is a much slower speed, which was perfect for my toddlers. There is a 1/4 mile walking track with fitness stations, as well as bathrooms and two covered picnic areas.

This is such an awesome park!! We had the place to ourselves and it was such a great spot to explore.

The Heights

📍Located just behind The Heights in Richmond Heights (same parking lot around the back)

GPS Coordinates: 38.62887° N, 90.33201° W

There are so many fun slides and areas to climb here. It does have ladders going up to a 3rd level, which was perfect for my 6yo and 4yo. I helped my 2yo up the ladders because she still wanted to climb up like her big sisters.

There was a smaller toddler area which was fun too! Shade is over the picnic tables and there is a great shaded short trail along a little nature area/outdoor classroom. Our favorite was the sandbox!

Just a heads up, no swings and no restrooms here, but you can enter The Heights to use the restrooms.

Central Park

We love this playground in Chesterfield with lots of options for climbing different levels. There is a small zipline, ramps and lots of swings! My kids like the double swing that they call a “sister swing.”

There is not much shade here at the playground, but there is shade over the picnic tables.

Check out the creek play area, as well as the 1.25 mile paved trail behind the playground.

If you are looking for a trail through the woods in this area, Riparian trail is located across the street and is so fun with all of the boardwalks!

Have fun checking out these parks! Happy exploring!

Vago Park

2700 Fee Fee Rd

Maryland Heights, MO 63043

There are three total playgrounds here, but my favorite is the toddler playground by the sand volleyball court and splashpad.

Their new playground (open 5/4/23) is tailored for kiddos 2-5yo and it was spectacular. From making music to balancing to climbing, it is a gem.

When we visited last, it was the beginning of May. We had no idea that the splash pad was already on, so we just played in our clothes! It was a fun surprise and this is a great splash pad! There is not much shade, so definitely load on the sunscreen.

The two playgrounds, sand volleyball court, splash pad and restrooms were all next to each other. It made it easy to walk between them! There is another playground on the other side of the park targeted to older kids.

Drace Park

📍2310 Cedar Valley Rd

Town and Country, MO 63131

This is one of our favorite nature areas to explore! There is a tunnel, a giant rock pit with lumber to stack and ramps to play with. Also, there are neat stepping stones and wooden balance beams! Sand toys and hot wheel cars would be great additions to bring here.

One of the log cabins (there are 3 on the park property) is open for kids to play inside. The cabin is empty, but there are rocks and bricks, which equals endless fun!!

There is also a really nice pavilion and playground too! Bathrooms are open and right next to the pavilion. The playground was recently renovated and has a natural/woodland theme.

There is a .4 mile paved trail around the perimeter of the park. A large open field is a favorite for my daughters to run around on! The playground was redone recently and it is a nature-based playground with turf covering.

Drace Park is a nice quiet place, even though it is at the corner of 270 & Clayton!

Rayburn Park

Located off of Rayburn Avenue, this is 3.3 hilly shady acres. The park has a playground

with a “gravity rail” zipline swing, which is the coolest thing! The swing zipline is such a neat feature! It does get some high speed, so I recommend reminding kids to hold on tight, or walk while holding onto the zipline until your child feels comfortable. There is a new playground structure up the hill from the zipline, and offers great shade in South County. There are no restrooms and there is free street parking.

Creve Coeur Lake Park

Creve Coeur Lake has 3 wonderful playgrounds on the upper part of the park! The unpaved Bootlegger’s Trail is located in this upper section as well.

Newest one:

📍38.71175° N, 90.47754° W

This is right next to Greensfelder “Spaceship” Shelter, and has an awesome view of Creve Coeur Lake. It is shaded, has turf ground and an awesome climbing structure.

There are two other playgrounds that are located across the street past Go Ape!

Not only that, but the 3.9 mile paved loop around Creve Coeur Lake is just gorgeous.

Shaw park

📍27 S. Brentwood Blvd., Clayton, MO 63105

Located in Clayton, Shaw Park has three playgrounds throughout the park. This 30-acre park is both the oldest and largest park in Clayton. One park is fenced in and has a great treehouse and toddler section. The other two playgrounds have fun climbing options and are newer additions to the park. Not only that, but the Centennial Greenway goes through Shaw with great paved trails.

All around the St. Louis area, there are many wonderful parks just waiting to be explored!!
